Telangana's fiscal relief initiative targets retired employees. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to clear pending retirement benefits worth six thousand crore rupees within the next hundred days. The directive follows discussions with employee representatives and comes as the state reports rising revenues, including increased GST collections. Additionally, the government plans to issue health cards enabling free medical treatment for all government employees by June. The Chief Minister has also requested the pay revision panel to submit its report at the earliest. State officials attribute the accumulated dues to the previous administration, noting that no pending employee bills existed when Telangana was formed in 2014.
