University of Southampton selects Aspire consortium for major student housing expansion. The partnership between Hochtief PPP Solutions, Cityheart, and Vinci Building secured a 50-year design, build, finance, and operate contract valued at approximately £170 million. By 2029, the consortium will deliver 1,092 new student bedrooms across Connaught and South Stoneham campuses, modernize 399 existing rooms, and restore Grade II* listed Stoneham House. The project supports the university's strategic goal to attract 30,000 students by 2031 while providing affordable, sustainable accommodation. Vinci Building will handle construction, with Willmore Iles Architects designing the facilities and Aspire Students Limited managing long-term operations. This long-term partnership model demonstrates institutional investment in student infrastructure and campus expansion.
