Kerala Government Acquires Land for Vizhinjam Port Expansion
The Kerala government has announced plans to acquire 230 acres of land to support the ongoing development of the Vizhinjam International Seaport project. This significant land acquisition is part of a broader infrastructure initiative aimed at establishing supporting facilities and infrastructure required for the port's full operational capacity.
The acquisition will be conducted in accordance with the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act of 2013, ensuring that all affected landowners receive fair market compensation. The LARR Act provides comprehensive provisions for rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced persons, guaranteeing transparency in the valuation process and adequate compensation packages.
