India's GST collections surge in March. Gross GST revenue climbed 8.8% to over 2 lakh crore in March, driven by strong domestic and import tax collections. Domestic revenues rose 5.9% to 1.46 lakh crore while import duties jumped 17.8% to 53,861 crore. For the full fiscal year 2025-26, gross GST collections reached 22.27 lakh crore, up 8.3% year-on-year. After accounting for refunds of 22,074 crore, net GST revenues stood at 1.78 lakh crore in March, reflecting an 8.2% increase. The full-year net revenues grew 7.1% to 19.34 lakh crore. These figures indicate robust economic activity and improved tax compliance across both domestic consumption and international trade during the fiscal period.
