DEE Development Engineers' biomass unit gets major tariff boost. The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission approved a 49 percent tariff increase for the company's wholly owned subsidiary Malwa Power, raising rates to ₹5.224 per kWh from ₹3.50 per kWh for a 10-year term. The revised tariff applies to a 6 MW biomass power plant in Muktsar and includes retrospective recovery of approximately ₹5.80 crore for power supplied at lower interim rates between May 2025 and February 2026. DEE shares surged 4.05 percent following the announcement. The company projects combined annual revenue of ₹47.71 crore from the biomass plant and its pellet manufacturing facility once fully operational. However, management disputes the fixed cost component and plans to appeal for upward revision based on updated 2024 regulations rather than outdated 2012 norms.
