Kia accelerates humanoid robot deployment in manufacturing. Kia President Song Ho-sung announced plans to deploy Boston Dynamics' Atlas robots in physically demanding assembly processes across its factories. The deployment will begin at Hyundai Motor Group's Georgia plant, followed by Kia's Georgia facility a year later. Once proven effective in specific production lines, Atlas can be replicated across global vehicle plants due to standardized factory layouts. Hyundai Motor is constructing a mass production system targeting 30,000 humanoid units annually by 2028. Song indicated that Kia's investment ratio in humanoid robot production remains undecided but will be determined based on expected benefits. Regarding Boston Dynamics' potential initial public offering, Song stated the timing and outside funding decisions have not yet been finalized internally.
