Agnikul Cosmos, the Chennai-based space startup, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully test firing three semi-cryogenic rocket engines simultaneously for the first time in India. The electric pump-fed engines were entirely designed and manufactured in-house at their Rocket Factory. This test required precise calibration of six pumps, six motors, and six speed control algorithms working in perfect synchronization to ensure uniform startup, steady state, and shutdown performance. The company has demonstrated consistent progress, moving from a single engine in its May 2024 ISRO launch to dual engines in October 2025, and now to this triple engine configuration. CEO Srinath Ravichandran indicated plans to increase engine clustering further, with the final number depending on mission requirements and customer specifications.
