Indian markets extended their recovery rally into midday trade on Wednesday, with the Nifty 50 climbing 201.75 points or 0.86 percent to 23,782.90 and the Sensex gaining 694.39 points or 0.91 percent to 76,765.23. Information technology stocks emerged as the standout performers, reversing early weakness to lead sectoral gains. Infosys topped the Nifty 50 gainers, surging 4.50 percent to 1,288.40, while Tech Mahindra advanced 4.13 percent, HCL Technologies gained 3.93 percent, and TCS rose 3.13 percent. Jio Financial Services also featured among top gainers with a 3.89 percent increase. On the downside, Coal India was the biggest decliner, falling 2.61 percent, while power and energy stocks broadly remained under pressure. Market breadth remained decisively positive with 3,160 stocks advancing against 901 declining.
