A new study reveals AI's transformative impact on hiring dynamics in the tech sector. Research from ICRIER shows 63% of firms are seeking candidates with hybrid skills combining domain expertise and AI capabilities. Entry-level hiring is experiencing moderation as companies integrate artificial intelligence into core workflows. Interestingly, roles traditionally considered most vulnerable to AI, like software development, are simultaneously seeing strong demand growth. The study suggests AI is functioning more as a productivity enhancement tool rather than a direct job replacement. Across 1,900 business divisions, productivity gains significantly outpace potential declines, with divisions reporting increased output and stable team sizes outnumbering those experiencing productivity drops by 3.5 to 1.
