Coromandel International's Q4 profit collapses 80 percent as expenses surge. The fertilizer and crop protection company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 114.64 crore for January-March quarter, down sharply from Rs 578.46 crore a year earlier. Despite revenue climbing to Rs 6,003.66 crore from Rs 4,988.39 crore, expenses jumped 22.4 percent to Rs 5,769.93 crore. Full year earnings declined 7.62 percent to Rs 1,898.14 crore despite total income rising to Rs 31,827.45 crore. The phosphatic fertilizer segment showed resilience with 7 percent volume growth reaching 4.3 million tonnes, while crop protection business surged 16 percent in revenue and 55 percent in profitability. The company expanded its agri retail network to 1,200 centers and commissioned new manufacturing plants at Kakinada to strengthen backward integration and boost domestic fertilizer production capacity.
