TCS Limits Fresher Hiring to 25,000 as Market Outlook Remains Cautious
Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest IT services company, has announced it will offer only 25,000 fresher positions during the current fiscal year. This represents a measured approach to recruitment as the company navigates uncertain global economic conditions. CEO K Krithivasan confirmed that future hiring beyond this cohort will be directly tied to actual market demand and client project requirements rather than predetermined targets.
The decision reflects broader caution across the IT services sector, which faces headwinds from potential economic slowdown, reduced client spending, and competitive pressures. TCS, which traditionally hires thousands of freshers annually through campus recruitment programs, is adopting a more conservative stance to maintain operational efficiency and profitability margins.
