Qualcomm targets robotics as next growth engine. CEO Cristiano Amon told CNBC that robotics will become a "larger opportunity" for the chip giant within two years, as the company expands beyond smartphones. Qualcomm launched its Dragonwing processor in January specifically designed for robotic applications across multiple platforms. The robotics market is attracting significant attention, with McKinsey projecting the general-purpose robotics market could reach $370 billion by 2040. Advances in artificial intelligence and physical AI have made robots substantially more useful and capable. Amon emphasized that robotics alone could represent a trillion-dollar market opportunity. Nvidia's CEO has similarly identified robotics as a major growth driver.
