Quantum navigation startup SBQuantum raises $4 million USD in first private funding round. The Sherbrooke-based deep tech company has closed its seed round co-led by Paris-based Quantonation and local investor Quantacet, marking a major milestone after nearly a decade of bootstrapping operations. SBQuantum develops quantum diamond magnetometers designed to replace GPS systems in contested environments where traditional navigation fails due to jamming, spoofing, or weak satellite coverage. The technology has already been deployed in space through a US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency challenge and vetted by NASA for operational readiness. The company plans to use funding to expand its team and accelerate growth in North America while scaling production of portable magnetic intelligence units for public security applications.
