OCC Considers Sharing Trump-Linked Bank Application with Senate Committee. The Comptroller of the Currency said Thursday he will consider providing Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tim Scott unredacted access to World Liberty Financial's bank charter application. The decentralized finance company, co-founded by Trump family members, submitted its application in January seeking to establish a national trust bank for stablecoins. Warren pressed the OCC during a Senate Banking Committee hearing on whether all principal shareholders disclosed their information and whether she could review the unredacted application. The company plans to issue and custody USD1, a dollar-backed stablecoin, and serve institutional cryptocurrency clients. Warren noted this situation is unprecedented, stating no previous president has had a pending bank application before.
