Fujairah's marine fuel sales surge to four-month high in January. The UAE port recorded 635,835 cubic metres of bunker sales, marking a 6.1 percent increase from December and 1.1 percent growth year-over-year. High-sulphur marine fuel led the charge with a robust 14.7 percent monthly jump, while low-sulphur grades climbed 1.8 percent. This shift elevated high-sulphur fuel's market share to 36 percent from 33 percent, signaling changing demand dynamics in the global shipping sector. The strong bunker demand has drawn down Fujairah inventories to their lowest levels in sixteen weeks, reflecting sustained maritime activity. This performance mirrors seasonal trends observed at Singapore's bunker hub, suggesting broader strength in global shipping markets as 2026 progresses.
