UPL Ltd announced a major corporate restructuring to list its crop protection business as an independent entity. The Mumbai-based agrochemical company will merge its Indian and international pesticide operations into a new company called UPL Global Sustainable Agri Solutions Ltd, which will become the world's second-largest listed pure-play crop protection firm. The new entity generated 9,721 crore in revenue during the October-December quarter, representing about 80 percent of parent UPL's total revenue. Each UPL shareholder will receive one share in UPL Global upon listing. The restructuring aims to improve operational agility, reduce debt, and create a focused platform for growth in the evolving agricultural chemicals market.
