Delhi's Electric Vehicle Policy 2026-2030 offers major incentives for EV adoption. All electric cars priced at ₹30 lakh or below will receive complete exemption from road tax and registration fees until March 2030. Strong hybrid vehicles qualify for fifty percent exemption. However, electric cars exceeding ₹30 lakh in ex-showroom price will not receive any tax benefits. Starting January 1, 2027, only electric three-wheelers will be permitted for new registration in Delhi. This policy aims to reduce vehicular pollution and accelerate electric mobility adoption in the capital. The government opened a thirty-day public feedback period for the draft policy. This initiative builds on Delhi's EV strategy launched in August 2020, which was extended after its initial three-year term concluded in August 2023.
