MSME sector faces critical operational crisis as LPG shortage threatens widespread job losses. Micro, small and medium enterprises operating on razor-thin margins cannot absorb sudden energy cost spikes or irregular fuel supply disruptions. Association of Indian Entrepreneurs National Chairman warns that thousands of small industries, commercial kitchens and food processors depend entirely on LPG for daily production. Without urgent government intervention, many units may be forced to cut production, reduce workforce or temporarily shut operations, potentially triggering a chain reaction across employment, supply chains and local economies. The Association calls for direct LPG allocation to MSMEs, temporary excise duty and VAT reductions on petroleum fuels, and strict monitoring against hoarding.
