Reliance Jio ordered to halt discriminatory tariff practices. India's telecom regulator Trai has directed the country's largest telco to stop restricting special tariff vouchers to its own retail channels. The operator must now make all tariff offerings available across all platforms including stores, apps, and websites by April 14. Jio had limited certain entry-level plans offering 1 GB daily data exclusively through its own stores, while pricing special vouchers at 249, 199, and 209 rupees through restricted channels. The regulator also flagged device-specific tariffs exclusive to JioPhone and JioBharat as violations of non-discrimination principles. Jio must restructure these offerings to make them available across all devices.
