Indian markets extend gains with Sensex surging past 77,900. The benchmark index climbed 1,061.99 points or 1.38 percent to 77,948.90, while Nifty 50 gained 327.30 points or 1.36 percent to 24,323. The rally proved broad-based across automobiles, information technology, energy, FMCG, and two-wheeler sectors. Maruti Suzuki led gains with a 4.68 percent jump to 13,495, followed by Tech Mahindra rising 3.69 percent and Coal India climbing 3.50 percent on heavy volumes. ITC advanced 3.32 percent while Eicher Motors gained 3.06 percent. Market breadth remained firmly positive with 2,486 advancing stocks against 1,575 declines. A total of 144 stocks hit 52-week highs. On the downside, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories fell 0.96 percent while IndiGo slipped 0.30 percent amid elevated crude oil prices.
