Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has responded sharply to James Cameron's criticism of the streaming giant's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, accusing the legendary director of spreading misinformation. Sarandos stated that Cameron is part of a Paramount-led disinformation campaign regarding the deal announced in December. The Netflix executive emphasized that he personally met with Cameron in late December and detailed the company's commitment to a 45-day theatrical exclusivity window for Warner Bros. films. Sarandos also noted he has sworn under oath before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust about this commitment. Cameron had raised concerns in a letter to Senator Mike Lee, arguing Netflix's business model conflicts with theatrical film production and could result in theater closures and job losses.
