SEBI eases accreditation for AIF investors. SEBI Chairperson Tuhin Kanta Pandey announced the regulator will further streamline the accreditation process for Alternate Investment Fund investors to boost capital flows into key sectors. The AIF industry currently manages 6.5 lakh crore in investments with 16 lakh crore in commitments. Non-accredited investors can participate with a minimum 1 crore investment threshold, while accredited investors face no minimum requirements. Pandey emphasized the rapid growth of India's AIF sector and its potential to channel capital into critical areas. The regulator also welcomed recent FDI policy changes for land-bordering countries, which establish clearer timelines for investments in sensitive sectors and reduce bureaucratic friction for foreign capital inflows.
