Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has awarded the Phase II contract for Hessa Street Development, a major infrastructure project addressing the emirate's urban growth. The 3-kilometre upgrade between Al Khail Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road will double the street's capacity from 4,000 to 8,000 vehicles per hour while dramatically reducing travel times from 24 minutes to just five minutes. The project includes constructing 8,835 metres of bridges, a 480-metre tunnel, and upgrading three major intersections. Phase II will expand Hessa Street from two to four lanes in each direction and serve approximately 650,000 residents across 10 residential and development areas. Phase I is scheduled to open in April 2026, with the complete development supporting Dubai's continued economic expansion and commercial growth.
