Saudi Arabia launches sea-to-air cargo corridor. The kingdom has established a new logistics initiative linking western seaports with airports to maintain global cargo flows amid ongoing shipping disruptions. Saudia Cargo, Saudi Ports Authority, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority collaborated on this project. Operations began through Jeddah Islamic Port, enabling maritime shipments to transfer to air freight services quickly. The system allows cargo movement under a single customs declaration with pre-clearance procedures and smart inspections. Containers can now move from port terminals to aircraft in significantly shorter timeframes. This integration strengthens Saudi Arabia's maritime and air logistics infrastructure, supporting business continuity and ensuring essential goods reach international markets reliably during supply chain challenges.
