NSE launches Dated Brent Crude Oil futures from April 13. The National Stock Exchange has received regulatory approval from Sebi to introduce Dated Brent Crude Oil (Platts) futures contracts in its commodity derivatives segment. Traded under the symbol BRCRUDEOIL, these contracts will provide market participants with a hedging tool aligned with international crude benchmarks. Monthly contracts will trade Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 11:30 pm or 11:55 pm depending on US daylight saving time. The contracts are cash-settled with final settlement prices determined by the monthly simple average of Platts Dated Brent assessments, converted to rupees using the RBI's USD-INR reference rate. This expansion strengthens India's commodity derivatives market and offers traders better exposure to global oil price movements.
