India's government has formed a high-level panel led by State Bank of India Chairman C S Setty to assess cybersecurity risks from the advanced AI platform Mythos. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the initiative following growing global concerns that the system's sophisticated coding capabilities could expose vulnerabilities in banking networks and trigger cyberattacks. The panel will coordinate with banks to identify threats, determine necessary investments in defensive technologies, and develop strategies using AI to counter AI-based threats. Government officials including IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw are engaging with technology companies and international regulators to understand Mythos's full implications. Banks across Asia, Europe, and the US have been warned to strengthen their cybersecurity defenses.
