Panic buying surge overwhelms LPG distribution system in Telangana. The sudden spike in cylinder bookings has paralyzed operations across multiple distribution centers, with orders surging approximately 50 percent above normal levels. The OTP-based authentication system, which operates on an all-India network, is experiencing tremendous strain at distribution points. Despite adequate domestic cylinder supply, consumer panic has created significant operational delays and backlogs. Telangana has 810 LPG distributors serving 1.30 crore consumers with approximately 60 lakh cylinders distributed monthly. State authorities are investigating potential supply shortages and black market activity, with the Civil Supplies Minister scheduling meetings with oil company representatives to address the crisis and develop solutions.
