Elixir Energy accelerates Taroom Trough development plans. The ASX-listed explorer has partnered with pipeline operator APA Group to fast-track a path to market for gas from its Lorelle project in Queensland. Under an early works agreement, the companies will investigate piping gas to the Wallumbilla Gas Hub, a critical interconnection point linking nine major pipelines. Elixir also plans to produce significant quantities of associated light oil from the project. The 12-week study will compare pipeline routing options and evaluate capital costs, operating expenses, and timelines. Flow testing at the Lorelle-3H appraisal well begins in June, with results feeding into reserve booking decisions. The collaboration follows Queensland government calls for fast-tracking Taroom Trough projects as a crucial new fuel supply source for Australia.
