Bissell recalls nearly 2 million steamers over burn hazard. The company is recalling Steam Shot OmniReach and Steam Shot Omni models after receiving over 100 reports of serious burn injuries. The CPSC reports that attachments can unexpectedly detach, exposing users to hot steam and water. Bissell received 206 reports of steam escaping and 161 injury reports, including one second-degree burn case. Approximately 1.7 million units were recalled in the U.S. and 96,000 in Canada. The affected steamers were sold between October 2024 and March 2026 through major retailers including Target, Walmart, and Amazon. This marks the second recall for Bissell steamers in recent years, following a 2024 recall of 3.2 million units. The company states consumer safety is its top priority and is working with the CPSC on the voluntary recall.
