India-Suriname deepen bilateral ties across multiple sectors. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar concluded his official visit to Suriname, co-chairing the 9th India-Suriname Joint Commission Meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Melvin W J Bouva. The two nations agreed to strengthen collaboration in defence, security, health, trade, commerce, infrastructure, education, agriculture and energy sectors. India offered soft loans under its Lines of Credit framework to support Suriname's infrastructure and strategic sector development. Both countries noted their relations are marked by cordiality and convergence on global issues. The next Joint Commission Meeting will be held in India, signaling continued commitment to deepening economic and strategic partnerships in the Caribbean region.
