Polymarket pushes for U.S. market return. The prediction market platform has formally approached the Commodity Futures Trading Commission seeking to lift the ban preventing American customers from accessing its international exchange. Since a 2022 settlement and 1.4 million dollar fine, Polymarket has been technically prohibited from serving U.S. traders on its main platform. The company's domestic alternative, Polymarket US, remains in beta with minimal trading activity despite federal regulation. Recent regulatory approvals, including an Amended Order of Designation last November, positioned the company to operate as a fully regulated exchange. However, some U.S. traders have circumvented restrictions, highlighted by a soldier recently accused of using classified information on the international platform.
