SpiceJet, the budget airline, is set to significantly expand its operations by inducting 10 more aircraft this year. The carrier aims to more than double its capacity, reaching 220 crore Available Seat Kilometres by Winter 2026 and targeting over 300 daily flights. This strategic expansion follows a successful quarter where the airline doubled its capacity from 55 crore to 105 crore Available Seat Kilometres. The growth plan includes a mix of wet and damp leases, as well as phased return of grounded aircraft. Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer, highlighted the company's confidence in strong market demand and commitment to sustainable expansion. The move signals SpiceJet's recovery and strategic positioning in the competitive Indian aviation market, demonstrating resilience and growth potential in the sector.
