BP and Eni, through their joint venture Azule Energy, have discovered approximately 500 million barrels of oil in Block 15/06 offshore Angola. The Algaita-01 well, located in the Lower Congo Basin, demonstrates significant potential with multiple reservoir intervals showing excellent petrophysical properties. This discovery marks the 23rd successful exploration in the block, reinforcing the region's robust petroleum system. The strategic location near existing production facilities enhances the economic value of the find. The Angolan National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels views this as a positive development that could boost national production and state revenues. Azule Energy, which operates the block with a 36.84% stake, currently produces around 200,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and continues to expand its exploration strategy in the region.
