Deliveroo exits Singapore market after eight years of operations. The food delivery platform will cease services on March 4 following a strategic review of country-specific conditions. Parent company DoorDash is simultaneously withdrawing from Qatar, Japan, and Uzbekistan as part of a broader portfolio restructuring. The company cited focus on markets with clearer paths to sustainable scale and long-term leadership. Deliveroo, which launched in Singapore in November 2015, will conduct an orderly wind-down and support customers, delivery partners, and riders during the transition. This exit reflects intensifying competition in the regional food delivery sector and DoorDash's strategic pivot toward prioritizing profitability over market expansion in certain geographies.
