Talanx strengthens Mexican insurance footprint through major bancassurance deal. The Hannover Re parent company has signed a 20-year strategic partnership with Afirme Grupo Financiero to distribute non-life and life insurance products across Mexico. The agreement includes Talanx acquiring 100 percent of Afirme Seguros shares, significantly boosting HDI Seguros Mexico's competitive position. Combined premium volumes exceed one billion euros annually. The transaction, expected to close in the first half of 2027, positions Talanx closer to its goal of becoming a top five player in Mexico's property and casualty market while strengthening HDI International's standing as the second-largest P&C insurer in Latin America.
